Welcome to My Blog!
Hey there! My name is Samantha Kerrigan and I'm a 3rd year Telecommunications-news major at the University of Florida. But my hometown is West Palm Beach and I would love to live there in the future if my career allows me to. I love being outdoors and in the sunshine, especially when I'm home and can go to all the beautiful beaches South Florida has to offer. I'm a very fun, easy-going person who loves to have a good time with friends and family. I have one sibling, a younger brother, and I'd say we're just about as close as a brother and sister could be. I also have the sweetest Shih-tzu puppy named Muffin. And, up at UF, I'm a member of the Delta Zeta sorority which has really impacted my college experience in a positive way!
My biggest hobby is dance. I have been dancing since I was five years old and although being in college doesn't allow me to dance as often as I would like, it will always be my passion. My other passion is news and focusing on school so that I can become the news anchor I've always wanted to be. I've pretty much known all along that I wanted to pursue a career in broadcast journalism and have always looked up to brilliant women like Diane Sawyer and Mary Hart. I would love to work in entertainment news but I'm a huge sports fan and could see myself in that line of work also or just general local news reporting.

I think technology is a wonderful thing and I honestly don't know what I would do without my MacBook or iPhone constantly by my side. The social networking world is always growing and that's one reason I'm very excited to start this new blog! Living in the not-so-big city of Gainesville for about 9 months out of the year can prove to be pretty boring when it comes to eating. I like to switch up the restaurants I go to when I go out to dinner once or twice a week and so I decided I needed to explore my options. What did I find you ask? Well I discovered that Gainesville has a lot of cute, delicious, and locally owned restaurants that you'll only find here. Going to the same old chain establishments all the time like Chili's and Outback is no longer necessary, especially when you can go to delicious places like the Swamp Restaurant or Satchels instead. I hope that with this blog I can show you the wide array of great local eateries Gainesville has to offer.
